Scholarships
Farmers Electric Cooperative will award $1,000 schlarships to outstanding high school seniors in 2010. The scholarships can be applied toward tuition, housing meal plans and/or books at a college, university or technical school of your choice.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Your parent or guardian must be a member of Farmers Electric Cooperative at their principal residence.
  • You must be currently enrolled as a senior in high school.
  • You must be planning to attend a college, university or technical school as a full-time student in the fall of 2010.
  • You must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Along with the application, please submit:
  • A 500 word essay on "The Future of Energy in Texas”
  • Three letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, church leaders or work supervisors
  • Proof of the accuracy of the GPA certified by high school counselor. Home school students must provide a copy of their transcript from high school level coursework.
  • A recent headshot photo
  • A completed photo release form. (Download Release Form)
Scholarship Schedule
  • All applications must be received no later than 5p.m. on Friday, April 2nd, 2010
  • Finalists will be notified and scheduled for an interview before a panel of judges during the week of April 26th. Winners will be notified on May 3rd
  • Picture of all the winners will be scheduled the week of May 4th.
